As the world is healing and the music world is starting to look more normal with tours coming back, we are excited to have many of our students and friends being so active and dropping music or heading back out on the road! We are incredibly proud of the hard work that everyone has put in to their vocal training and within their individual projects! Here's a few examples of recent student work and upcoming events!
Ov Sulfur releases mostrous track "Oblivion (feat. Tim Lambesis)"
Deathcore act Ov Sulfur has been storming the scene with the return of vocalist Ricky Hoover (ex-Suffokate). They most recently dropped their single "Oblivion" which also serves as the title track for their upcoming EP due out August 6 - you can preorder here. The track demonstrates Ricky's range and vocal flexibility and features As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis.

Ov Sulfur has also announced their first show as a band which will take place in their hometown of Las Vegas, NV on August 6, 2021 at Backstage Bar & Billiards.
German metalcore band Immunity drops second single "Trainwreck"
EVI student Dominik Maiser and his band Immunity released the project's second song "Trainwreck" on June 11 with an accompanying music video. The German metalcore duo, founded just before the pandemic, is produced by Christoph Wieczorek (vocalist, guitarist for Annisokay) of Sawdust Recordings.
Immunity debuted the project on April 27 with the release of their single "Trust the Algorithm".
Dorzia from Houston, TX drops debut single "Blood Portrait"
Calling themselves "sonic brutality from Houston, TX", the 6-piece metal band fronted by EVI student Haley Roughton released their first track "Blood Portrait" as a band on June 4 and followed up with another single "Deity's Grasp" on June 18.
Both songs demonstrate Haley's flexibility in her extreme vocals from gutturals to piercing high screams. You can listen to both tracks here and check out a video of Haley tracking for "Blood Portrait" here.
