What is EVI Now?

EVI Now is a unique online lesson program designed for (but not exclusively limited to) metal vocals. EVI Now is a video-based cirriculum broken up into easy to follow step-by-step instructions on how to produce metal vocals and other forms of vocal distortion in a healthy and safe way. Users work their way through courses at their own pace.

How is EVI Now different from private lessons?

EVI Now is pre-recorded content, similar to the Extreme Vocal Institute YouTube channel but split into more specific topics and with more details. EVI Now covers a wide range of topics in detail in an order curated by David to help students develop a strong foundation and then branch out into more specific areas of the voice. We will be adding new content to EVI Now regularly so you will never run out of new techniques to learn and improve on! Private lessons with David happen in real time either in-studio or virtually and are designed specifically for the goals of the individual. David follows the development of all of his students, even long after they have stopped taking lessons. Additionally, private lessons offer personalized feedback and direct interaction with David, which can be highly beneficial for addressing specific vocal challenges and goals.

Should I enroll in EVI Now or private lessons?

That choice is yours. If you're someone who prefers to learn on your own time then EVI Now may be the right option for you. EVI Now gives you the ability to learn and work on your vocals entirely on your own schedule. However, if you're someone who has very specific goals in mind, you might want to work with David privately.

Are metal/extreme vocals safe for your voice?

Absolutely. When balanced appropriately, metal vocals and other forms of extreme vocals are safe. Our program is designed with vocal health and sustainability in mind so that you have a strong foundation and can be confident that you are not harming yourself while producing these sounds. Keep in mind that producing sound of any kind can cause "wear and tear" on your vocal cords, our goal here is to give you the tools to reduce this as much as possible when singing and screaming.

Do I have to be able to sing to benefit from EVI Now?

You do not need any experience with vocals of any kind to benefit from EVI Now. Our program is designed with all levels in mind and you will work on building both your melodic range and extreme vocals simultaneously.

I've been doing metal vocals for years, do I need private lessons or will I benefit from EVI Now?"

Accepted Answer

The choice is yours. Our EVI Now program is designed with all levels in mind so no matter how long you've been doing vocals, there will be something here for you. Private lessons are great for people who have very specific needs, goals or just prefer to work with someone one-on-one. EVI Now is great for those who would like to learn on their own schedule.

How long will it take me to learn how to produce metal vocals?

Learning metal vocals is a marathon, not a sprint. There are no "quick solutions" and we're not going to promise you that you'll learn metal vocals in a specific amount of time. Everyone learns at different paces and everyone develops at different speeds. What comes naturally to one person does not come to the next. Consistency in practice is key and understanding that you WILL hit plateaus and feel like you're not progressing forward. That's okay. It'll all depend on the time that you put into it. Remember, patience and persistence are crucial, and utilizing the resources available through EVI Now can significantly aid your progress.

Are you planning on adding more courses?

Yes! We will be adding new material regularly to keep you progressing in your vocal development. There is ALWAYS more to learn, even for us, so we will always have new content to bring you.

Can I submit suggestions for website improvement?

Absolutely! We are always looking for feedback. We have lots of plans for the site in the future but would love to integrate as many suggestions from our users as possible.

I am having trouble accessing my EVI Now account, what should I do?

Oh no! If you're receiving an error message, the solution may be to clear your browser's cache. Need help clearing your cache? You may have accidentally made multiple accounts with us and you're not logged into the account you purchased your plan with. If the problem continues, please contact us at help@extremevocalinstitute.com so we can better assist you. Additionally, ensure your browser is up to date and try accessing your account from a different device or browser.

Do you offer EVI Now in other languages?

Our videos are in English but we currently offer English and Spanish subtitles! We look forward to expanding to more languages in the future.

Question 12

Can I download EVI Now videos?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Currently our program can only be accessed via the Internet or mobile service.

Question 13

If I send David a video can he give me feedback on my vocals?

We have hundreds of people using the program at any given moment so unfortunately this is not something we are able to offer unless you book a private lesson with David.
