The scene is filled with hundreds of incredibly talented vocalists who are fronting heavy af bands so when Metal Injection asked for Extreme Vocal Institute vocal coach David Benites to deliver a list of 10 of the top vocalists it took… a while… to narrow it down.

It’s important to note that this isn’t meant to be a comprehensive “Top 10 of all time” list but a highlight of vocalists currently tearing up the scene, pushing the boundaries of extreme vocals, and/or serving as ambassadors and gateways to an entirely new generation of metal fans.

Fronting a band is a job that extends beyond just screaming. It’s overall performance and stage presence and crowd control. If your favorite vocalist isn't on there, that doesn't mean they're not insanely talented or that they couldn't make this list.
Here at Extreme Vocal Institute, we have specifically steered clear of these types of "Top ___ Lists" in our content because it's just a recipe for people to be unhappy. You could pick any ten names and people would have arguments for or against any of them BUT for this one instance, enjoy checking out who David thinks is leading the scene.
